First Week
First week in the new company, and what a week its has been !!! ... ufff ... More than tackling the change in place and people, i have tackling the change in my health :-( Had a horrible cold, with added falvours from a splitting headache, and a nasty cold, and as if that was not enough, i still have a little throat pain and cough.
I have kinda adjusted already into this new place and getting to know all the people is so interesting and fun. The best part has been "remembering names". This time, I made a conscious decision to remember the names. I started with the names of the 3 great cubicle mates of mine, and then slowly started remembering the names of the other 9 members in the team. There are another 5 more names that i am finding tough to remember, but that should come soon with time now.
Today was my first team meeting, and what a shock it was !!! The good KREC guy who hired me, has decided to leave, and i will most probably be replacing him in the team. I am not shocked at his decision, but more at the things happening with me this year. With this transition happening, it will be 3 transitions in 4 months this year !!! Thats some average.
Its still some freetime at office now, with the training sessions in progress, and looks like might go on for atleast a couple of weeks. Sounds interesting, since this is all new stuff to me, but then, i just hope that the sessions arent so long that i end up sleeping through them :p
The view from my seat is damn great, as you can see in the picture above, but unfortunately, thats probably the only good thing that i can talk good about for now :( ... a slow 256 MB :((, 40 GB :(, Winduhs machine :| to work as my desktop. But, later on i heard that I would be given accounts on specific Unix machines where our main work will be happening. I hope those machines have good RAMs and some great amount of space.
But, none the less, as they say, change is always good ... thats how i feel now too :)
